Description
This is a Pickleball Canada sanctioned pickleball tournament, hosted by the Heavy Dinkers Pickleball Club. A player CANNOT register for the Super Senior Slam without the following:
1. register with Pickleball Canada. Once you join, or renew, you will see your membership number.
Go to www.picklecanada.org to join. Choose your local pickleball club or V-Club BC (I am not joining
one of the clubs below). All registrants must be PCO members in good standing through August 3,
2022 to play in this tournament.
2. create a profile in www.pickleballbrackets.com (creating a profile is free)
3. making sure your Pickleball Canada membership # is entered in your pickleballbrackets.com profile
4. ensure your name, birthdate and personal information is identical on PCO and PB.com

5. If you've played in a tournament before, but not with www.pickleballbrackets.com, make sure you enter your skill rating
6. If this is the first time you will participate in a tournament which uses the Pickleball Brackets system, give careful thought to the skill levels you record in your Player Profile. These skill levels plus .250 will be the starting point for your tournament rating calculation. REGISTERING FOR A SKILL LEVEL
When registering for a skill level, eg. 4.0 at least one of the players must be rated in that level. Eg. a 3.5 playing with a 4.0 player are eligible to play in 4.0. Two 3.5 players cannot play in 4.0.
Player ratings, as of April 15, 2022, will be used to determine the category for which a player qualifies.
COMPLIMENTARY T-SHIRT
The last day to order and receive a complimentary tournament shirt WAS June 15, 2022.

General Public Registration Opens: April 15, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. (PDT)
Registration Closes: July 3, 2022, at 11:45 p.m. (PDT)
Tournament Dates: Friday, July 29 - 31, 2022 - Monday, August 1 is a rainout day

REGISTRATION DETAILS
Player’s age as of: 12/31/22
Minimum Age of Player: 50 years
Age groups: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Registration Fees: $50.00 plus $15.00 per event
Registration is not complete until BOTH partners have registered, agreed/completed the tournament waiver, and paid all fees owing. Registration is limited in each division. If one player registers, his/her partner has 24 hours to register. If the partner does not register in 24 hours, the team will be moved to the waitlist
Online waiver will be used for registration.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
We have 5 skill levels and 6 age groups - (30 categories in men's doubles and women's doubles). UNTIL the tournament committee can assess the interest in various categories - registration limits will be as follows:
The first FIVE teams registered in men’s doubles and women’s doubles (in each age/skill category) will be placed in the bracket. Other teams will be placed on the waitlist until the tournament committee can balance categories. Additional teams will be added to popular age and/or skill groups on or about June 1, 2022. Similarly, some age/skill categories with low registration may be collapsed or combined on or about June 1, 2022.
The first EIGHT teams registered in mixed doubles will be placed in the bracket. (eg. XD 4.0 for 60-64 years) Other teams will be placed on the waitlist until the tournament committee can balance and/or add teams. (see above)
If a partner has not completed his/her registration within 24 HOURS of the first partner registering, the team will be moved to the waitlist. When the identified partner registers after the 24 HOUR grace period, the team will be moved from the waitlist back to the active list ONLY, if there is a slot available. FULLY REGISTERED/PAID TEAMS WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY!
An event is considered full when the limit set is filled by fully registered teams. At that time a waitlist will be created by PB Brackets.
Players on the waitlist who want to ensure they receive a tournament shirt are encouraged to order through the online store. The online store can be found at https://superseniorslam.com

The organizing committee reserves the right to cap the number of registrants on any one day of the tournament when the facilities/schedule reach capacity. Also,
Some categories may be combined if there is insufficient registration. The tournament director reserves the right to combine age divisions where there is insufficient registration.
PICKLEBALL CANADA REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
This is a Pickleball Canada sanctioned tournament. All registrants must be members in good standing through August 3, 2022, to play in this tournament.

NOTE: Players should register in the appropriate skill group, based on their current UTPR/USAPA/PCO rating. The Tournament Director reserves the right to review and consult with players who self rate above or below the level they customarily play. One member of the partnership must qualify for the skill level in which you wish to register.
FORMAT
Double Elimination Format Skill/Age Levels for events with 5 or more teams
Age/skill categories with less than 3 teams will not be run, but could be combined with another age/skill groups to form a bracket.
Age/skill categories with 4 teams may be offered a round robin event. (3 games to 15 guaranteed)
If 2 divisions are put together to create one bracket due to lack of enrollment (3.5 - 60-64, 3.5 - 64-69) only 1 set of medals will be awarded
Skill Levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 & 5.0
Age Levels 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Top side of bracket: Best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2
Bottom side of bracket: One game to 15, win by 2
Bronze Medal Matches: One game to 15, win by 2
Gold Medal Matches: Best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2
CANCELLATION POLICY
Registrants withdrawing before July 3, 2022, will be refunded registration and event fees minus a $15 administration fee. NO refunds will be issued after July 3, 2022.
In the case of inclement weather or other unforeseen issues between July 29 - August 1 that prevent play, only those participants who have not play in ANY event will be refunded their registration & event fees, minus a $15.00 administration fee.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
This is an outdoor tournament. If there is inclement weather, all will be done to play matches, but there will be NO refunds or credits due to inclement weather. Cancellation is a possibility due to inclement weather, health concerns (COVID) or other unforeseen circumstances during the tournament. If this occurs, the tournament director and organizing committee reserve the right to revise schedules to allow for evening play or to reschedule events for the rainout day, August 1, 2022. We do not offer registration and/or weather insurance.

REFEREES
The Super Senior Slam will run a great number of matches during the tournament. Our referee team will be working to obtain as many referees as possible. All medal matches are guaranteed to have a referee and linespersons. New referee training will be ongoing prior to the tournament in an effort to increase the number of volunteer referees. NEED A PARTNER?
If you need a partner check out www.pickleballbrackets.com after April 15, 2022 to see who is looking for a partner. Note: One member of the partnership must qualify for the skill level in which you wish to register.
If a partner becomes injured prior to the start of the tournament, but after registration has closed, the tournament director must be contacted at superseniorslam@gmail.com to request a change in partner. There are no restrictions on who is chosen as a replacement partner. Replacement players must be able to play in the same skill/age group as the injured player. The replacement player must sign the waiver and submit payment in order to be fully registered. Keep in mind, players may play down in age and up in skill. Consideration and approval for any request for the replacement of a player after registration closes will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Should the Tournament Director approve the change of partner, a desk operations team member will need to edit the registration.
HELPFUL INFORMATION
Players are encouraged to bring:
- their own portable chairs.
- hat or umbrella for personal shade.
- lunch and snacks, as there may be limited food options at the tournament.
- lots of water and sports drinks. Dehydration can happen quickly when playing in the sun. The nearest water refill station is located inside the Recreation Centre, a two-minute walk from the venue.

CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY
Cancellation deadline July 3, 2022
NO refunds will be issued after July 3, 2022.
Registrants withdrawing before July 3, 2022 will be refunded registration & event fees minus a $15 processing fee. Refunds must be requested in writing to the tournament director (email request for a refund to superseniorslam@gmail.com ).
