DEVONPORT PICKLEBALL GRAND SLAM:

EVENT DETAILS:
DATES: 22nd - 24th November 2024.

LOCATION: 34 Forbes Street Sports Centre Devonport Tasmania 7310.

REGISTRATION OPENS: From August 1st, 2024, AT 8:00 am to November 8th, 2024, at 12:00am.

MAXIMUM ENTRIES: 300

REGISTRATION FEES: ENTRY FEE: $50.00 (includes first event): $10.00 per additional event.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
EVENTS:
1. Round robins followed by single elimination rounds.
2. Pool games with 5 players/Teams: GAMES TO 15.
3. Pools with 6 or more players/teams: GAMES TO 11.
4. GOLD MEDAL MATCHES: BEST OF 3 to 11, WIN BY 2.
5. ONIX FUSE INDOOR PICKLEBALL will be used for all events, (please do not wear yellow apparel).
MINIMUM GAMES: 3 games per event guaranteed.

2024 DEVONPORT PICKLEBALL GRAND SLAM OFFER:
Singles/Skinny Singles/Gender Doubles/Mixed Doubles- OPEN EVENT, and skill age division.

SINGLES/SKINNY SINGLES (November 22 )- only 1 event can be entered.
GENDER DOUBLES (November 23) 1 skill/age event can be entered for the relevant gender doubles.
MIXED DOUBLES (November 24 ) 1 skill/age event can be entered for the relevant mixed doubles.

Tournament director advises any player under 19 that wishes to participate in any event please do not hesitate in contacting the TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

AGE GROUPS: (19-35) -( 35-50) -(50-65) -(65 and over) - (OPEN)
AGE AS OF (DECEMBER 31, 2024)

MEDALS:
Awarded to: GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE WINNERS IN EACH BRACKET.

PRACTICE SESSION: 7.30am - 8.15am - 10-minute rotation

REGISTRATION:
Registration opens at 7.15 am for MATCHES to start at 9am.

DIRECTORS DISCRETION:

The tournament director reserves the right to :
1. Review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self rate below or above their actual rating.
2. Move players and teams between skill level brackets if they entered the wrong event
3.Merge or split brackets based event registration, any event with fewer than 4 entries will be combined with another event of closest possible rating.
4.Change start times to facilitate smooth running of the tournament.
5. The tournament director reserves the right to modify the events and or modify the events, in case of unprecedented events such as fire drills ect.

DELAYS :
If you are unavoidably delayed and it appears you will not arrive on time , please contact the tournament director. We can update you on the schedule and consider options but you may forfeit your match.

REFEREES
We will endeavour to provide ,if available,referees on all gold medal matches.

VOLUNTEERS
If you know anyone that is wishing to volunteer on the tournament day please contact the EVENT COORDINATORS.

REGISTRATION

Registration will be considered complete when the team is complete. Both players must register for the entry to be complete.
If you do not have a partner, you can look under (players needing partner) in pickleball brackets. It is the entrants responsibility to use this function to find themselves a partner. If you can not the TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR may be able to assist.
All participants must be members of PICKLEBALL AUSTRALIA. Anyone who is a member of their state association (such as PICKLEBALL TAS ) is automatically a member of Pickleball Australia. You will need to know your Pickleball Australia number to register.

PLAYER RATING
If you already have a pickleball bracket rating,this is the official Pickleball Australia sanctioned rating system that will be used.
If you have not entered a tournament before,and do not have a rating you will need to self rate.PLEASE NOTE: The 2.5 - 2.99 players will be classed as advanced beginner to early intermediate, this is only an example.

Refund Policy

REFUND POLICY:

Player request for withdrawals will be accepted until October 20th 2024 at 6pm,with a full refund less a $10.00 administration fee.
After 20th October 2024 at 6pm,there will be no refunds. The only exception is a medical certificate.
