After a two-year absence, the Douglas Park Pickleball Charity Tournament, in support of Douglas Park Community School Society, is back, and will be held from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26 at Douglas Park

MS 3.0, 3.5 & 4.5 and WS 3.0 & 3.5 events will start at 2:00 PM
MS 4.0, 5.0 & WS 4.0 will start at 4:25 PM
Saturday, June 25
MD 3.0, 3.5 and WD 3.5, 4.0 start at 8:00 AM
MD 4.0 and WD 3.0 start at 1:00 PM
MD 4.5, 5.0 starts at 1:25 PM

FORMAT: Double Elimination Format for each doubles skill level and Round Robin for men’s and women’s singles events.
Brackets may be cancelled or limited in size based on registration numbers. The Tournament Director may modify the scoring format in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen delays.

REGISTRATION DETAILS
Registration Fees: $40.00 plus $10.00 per event
An online waiver will be used for registration.
Online payment via Pickleball Brackets.
Registration is not complete until BOTH partners have registered, agreed to the tournament waiver, and paid all fees owing. Registration is limited in each event.
We will be using the Franklin X-40 ember ball
Competition courts will be available for warm up one hour prior to the start of the events each day. Plan to arrive at the venue 45 -60 minutes prior to the start of your event to allow time for check-in, warm-up and to prepare for your first match.
There will be four warm up courts available.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER:
This is a Pickleball Canada sanctioned tournament, therefore:
1. All registrants must have a valid Pickleball Canada Membership to play in this tournament. Please ensure your Pickleball Canada Membership number and your skill level are up to date in your pickleballbrackets.com profile before registering for this tournament. If you are not a Pickleball Canada member, you can become a member at https://pickleballcanada.org/

2. In order to register for this tournament you must have a Pickleball Brackets Account. If you do not have a Pickleball Brackets account, create one BEFORE registration opens. It will save you time when registering.
IMPORTANT! Make sure your profile information (email, spelling of your names, phone number, PCO number, date of birth, gender etc) is the same on both Pickleball Canada AND Pickleball Brackets.
Enter as a TEAM and make sure your partner registers and pays within 24 hours of you registering. IMPORTANT NOTE: One member of the partnership must qualify for the skill level in which you need to register.
If a partner has not completed his/her registration within 24 hours of the first partner registering, the team will be moved to the waitlist. When the identified partner registers, and pays, the team will be moved from the waitlist back to the active list ONLY, if there is a slot available.
FULLY REGISTERED/PAID TEAMS WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY! An event is considered full when the limit set is filled by fully registered teams. At that time a waitlist will be created by PB Brackets.
NOTE: Players should register in the appropriate skill group, based on their current UTPR/USAPA/PCO rating. The Tournament Director reserves the right to review players who self-rate above or below the level at which they customarily play.

NEED A PARTNER?
If you need a partner check out www.pickleballbrackets.com to see who is looking for a partner.
If a partner becomes injured prior to the start of the tournament, but after registration has closed, the tournament director must be contacted to request a change in partner. There are no restrictions on who is chosen as a replacement partner. Replacement players must be able to play in the same skill/age group as the injured player. The replacement player must sign the waiver and submit payment in order to be fully registered. Keep in mind, players may play up in skill, but not down. Consideration and approval for any request for the replacement of a player after registration closes will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Should the Tournament Director approve the change of partner, a desk operations team member will need to edit the registration. No changes will be allowed after the event has started.

Players are encouraged to bring:
- their own portable chairs.
- hat or umbrella for personal shade.
- lots of food, water and sports drinks.
Refund Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY
Registrants withdrawing before May 27, 2022, will be refunded registration and event fees minus a $10 administration fee. NO refunds will be issued after May 27, 2022.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
This is an outdoor tournament. If there is inclement weather, all will be done to play matches, but there will be NO refunds or credits due should we have to cancel. Cancellation, due to inclement weather, health concerns (COVID) or other unforeseen circumstances during the tournament, is a possibility. If this occurs, the tournament director and organizing committee reserve the right to revise schedules to allow for indoor play, if possible. We do not offer registration and/or weather insurance.
