Gosford Pickleball Tournament

Description

The Gosford Pickleball Tournament is open to any member of of Pickleball Australia (members of Pickleball NSW are automatically members of Pickleball Australia). The event will be held from Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December at the Gosford Tennis Centre.

This is a Pickleball Australia SANCTIONED Tier 1 tournament where players can gain Australian Ranking (AR) points.

Global Federation Pickleball rules will be used. These can be found here: https://globalpickleballfederation.org/pickleball-rulebook/

The schedule of events will be:
Friday 29 Nov: Singles and skinny singles (50+ women only)
Saturday 30 Nov: Women's Doubles & Men's Doubles
Sunday 1 Dec: Mixed Doubles

Registration is $70 which includes entry into one event.
Each additional event costs $15.
Players can enter a maximum of 3 events - one per day.
Events in which players can accrue Australian Ranking Points are identified with (AR) in the event listing.

Registration Closes: 3 November 2024 @ 11pm or earlier if capacity is reached.

- To register you will need to create a free Pickleball Brackets login and profile. Your profile must contain your contact number, email, PAA ID number and self rating (many new players start at 2.5 or 3.0).
- You may enter up to three events during the tournament but all events need to be in a different categories e.g. Mixed Doubles, Doubles, Singles.

Additional Information

Events will be played on 26 outdoor pickleball courts, with lights when required.
Games will be to 15 points by 2 in round robin events with up to 5 teams, and up to 11 points by in round robin events with 6 or more teams.
Open events will based on the best of 3 games to 11 points by 2 with double elimination.
All players will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 games per event.
Fluro Green Franklin X40 balls will be used. No clothes which are predominantly light green please.
Referees will control all gold medal matches plus other games when possible.

Skinny Singles
You will note that skinny singles is only offered to women. This is due to a pattern of most women registering in skinny singles in tournaments, rather than full singles. Conversely, 65% of men who entered singles in the NSW Champs registered to play full singles, rather than skinny. For this medium sized tournament we don't have enough courts to offer skinny singles to both genders. Sorry guys!

It is a condition of entry that all attendees understand that they may be photographed or filmed at the event and that these images may be stored and used by PAA, PANSW or our sponsors on websites, social media and other purposes without express permission or payment. NOTE: Filming of games requires the permission of all players on the court with camera/phone positioned at waist height or above.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be provided to players who withdraw for any reason - no questions asked – before close of registration (3 November) - excluding transaction and service fees.

After registration closes (3 November) provision of a medical certificate will ensure a full refund minus the transaction and service charges.

General withdrawal after the close of registration (3 November) will result in a $30 registration payment being retained to cover costs incurred.

Once draws and event times are published, NO refund will be given, except when a medical certificate can be provided.

WET WEATHER POLICY
All reasonable efforts will be made to complete all events safely if rain interferes with this tournament. This might include extending play into the evening under lights, reducing the number of games played in each event and reducing the number of points in each game. If the tournament is cancelled due to a high chance of rain, players will receive a full refund minus transaction and service charges.
