Mid-Summer Slam 2021

Format: ** Currently Planning for Double Elimination - Skill Levels 3.0 - 5.0
However, depending on Provincial Health guidelines, the Format may be changed to Single Elimination.
All teams are guaranteed 2 matches (3 games).

Early registration will open to Surrey Pickleball Club members in good standing on June 14 at 7:00 a.m.
Registration Fee for Surrey Pickleball Club Members: $20 plus $15 per event
Registration for the General Public will open on June 18 at 7:00 a.m.
Registration Fee for General Public: $35 plus $15 per event
NOTE: Surrey Pickleball Club members, before you register you MUST have selected "Surrey Pickleball Club" in pickleballbrackets.com in order to take advantage of the member discounted registration fee and discounted t-shirt price. Failure to do so will result in paying the non-member registration fee. No refund will be given for the difference.
This is a Pickleball Canada non-sanctioned event, you MUST be a Pickleball Canada Member to play in this tournament. Please ensure your Pickleball Canada Membership number and your skill level are up to date in your pickleballbrackets.com profile before registering for this tournament. If you are not a Pickleball Canada member, you can become a member at https://www.pickleballcanada.org/
Registration is online only. Registration is not complete until BOTH partners have registered, signed the online waiver, and PAID; online payment via PayPal using credit card or PayPal account. When the maximum per event is reached based on fully registered/paid teams, others will be added to the waitlist.
All players must complete their registration by June 30, 2021, at midnight, or they could potentially be placed on the Waitlist. Players may enter as a team or look under “Players Needing Partners” to find a partner. Please note: If the partner has not completed their registration within five days of the first partner registering, the team will be automatically moved to the waitlist. When the identified partner registers after the five-day grace period, the team will automatically move from the waitlist back to the active list if there is a slot available.
In the case of waitlists, in doubles events – teams will take priority over individuals.
COMPLETE means, the waiver is signed, the registration is paid in full and your partner needs to be registered, waiver signed and paid in full.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to place players in the Skill Group based on their current UTPR/USAPA/PCO rating skill groups based on registration. The Tournament Committee has the right to make changes to the tournament, combine divisions, or change and alter the format depending on the number of registrations received.
Possible Covid Travel Restrictions Advisory:
Under the current B.C. PHO guidelines, the Mid-Summer Slam tournament will be held during Step 3 of the new 'B.C. Restart Plan'. It is assumed that by July 23 there will be no travel restrictions for all residents of British Columbia. However, it must be noted that under the current Step 1 guidelines, there are travel restrictions, which prohibit participants from travelling outside of three health regions:
• Fraser & Vancouver Coastal
• Vancouver Island
• remainder of B.C.
If by the tournament date, travel restrictions are still in place and you cannot travel to our venue, we will refund you per our tournament policy. Please send a request for reimbursement of fees to midsummerslam@gmail.com

Refund Policy
Registrants withdrawing before June 30, 2021, 11:45 p.m. will be refunded registration & event fees minus a $10.00 administration fee. NO refunds after June 30, 2021, 11:45 p.m. for player cancellations / withdrawals.
In the case of inclement weather or other unforeseen issues between July 23-26 that prevent play, only those participants who did not play in ANY event will be refunded their registration & event fees, minus a $10 administration fee.
