Welcome to the APP Signature Event: Women's Open Presented by The James.

We are proud to be hosting the first-ever Women’s Open, presented by the James Cancer Center.

This is a groundbreaking event and a true celebration of women in pickleball.

This event is open to EVERYONE, to compete, or come support your fellow players.

We intentionally scheduled the tournament on a free weekend for all elite players, so everyone can participate in this celebration of women during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to help raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer detection and research.

This event will be a special moment for women in pickleball. Pros, amateurs, JOIN US in October to compete, to celebrate, and to connect.

FORMAT OF PLAY:
Womens doubles will be offered on Friday and Saturday and a special Blind Draw event on Sunday. Blind Draw - Ladies enter as individuals and you will be partnered into doubles teams using a randomization of similar ages. This will be a great opportunity to get to know other Women in Pickleball! TD reserves right to change format if needed for better player tournament experience.

IF THE BRACKET IS COMBINED, ONLY ONE SET OF MEDALS IS AWARDED TO THE TOP THREE (3) PLAYERS/TEAMS OF THE COMBINED BRACKET

PLAYERS MUST PAY WHEN YOU REGISTER - NO EXCEPTIONS !

All matches will be played on a combination of dedicated courts, Pickleball United True Courts and taped courts with C&D Nets.

ALL AMATEUR PLAYERS MUST READ - PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY​

What does it mean to be registered?

* Player in a doubles amateur event; both players have registered and both players have paid their tournament fees

You or your team could be moved to the waitlist: (see the following items)

* If your doubles partner has not registered/paid

* Contract to play is between players and it is their responsibility to comply with the tournament
requirements to participate as stated above - player responsibility

* Players in the blind draw event will be paired with similar skill levels and ages to create a fun way to meet and new pickleball friends

Playing in Amateur Events:

* Players may only play in one event per day.
* Brackets will be filled on a first come basis.
** As a waitlist develops, we will be managing bracket sizes to accommodate demand.
** Therefore bracket maximums may be adjusted from registration opening to day of play.

FORMAT OF PLAY: All AMATEUR Brackets

Pool Play with PLAYOFFS:

All players are guaranteed four( 4 ) matches.
All matches in the round robin pool play will be 1 to 15, win by 2. Playoffs will be a single elimination bracket with Bronze medal playoff. Pre-medal rounds of single elimination bracket will be 1 to 15, win by 2 and all medal matches will be 2/3 to 11, win by 2. The size of the play off single elimination bracket will be a minimum of 4 and will be determined by the size of the pools.


Skill Player Partner Replacement Policy:

Any registered player losing a partner, after registrations have closed, must replace that partner with an already registered player. The replacement must be in the same skill/age group that you are scheduled to play. Players can play down in age and up in skill. Replacements need to be known and communicated to the registration coordinator listed on the CONTACT page by 4pm the day before you are scheduled to play. Replacements can be found on the players needing partners list, which can be found on pickleballbrackets.com.

Payment of Skill Partner Replacement Players:

If the cancellation deadline hasn't passed the player withdrawing from the event would be refunded less $25 withdrawal fee and the PT Software fee; the player entering the event would need to pay the registration fee, PT Software Fee and the event fee.

If registration deadline has passed, then the player withdrawing would not be refunded the registration fee; all players must pay the registration fee; the event fee would have to be reimbursed by the replacement player.

Refund Policy

CANCELLATION DEADLINE - September 4, 2024

Withdrawals before September 4, 2024 will receive a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee and non-refundable service fee of $5 per event, maximum of $10, and $25 per PRO event.

If you registered and paid the registration fee and were put on the wait list; you will not be charged the event fee until you are actually moved into the event. If you do not move off the wait list; a full refund will be issued at the end of the tournament. The cancellation fee will not apply.

**The PT Software Fee is non-refundable as stated on the checkout**

Refunds will be issued 7- 10 days at the completion of the tournament.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE – SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 at 8:00 p.m.

No refunds or credits for any reason after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE unless the Registration & Weather Insurance Policy has been purchased prior to the CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE.

Event fees:

Registration fee is $100 for Athlete Credential
Amateur Doubles Event fee - $25
Amateur Doubles Blind Draw Event fee - $10
Pro Event Fee - $100
Champion Pro Event Fee - $100
Master Pro Event Fee - $100


INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:

The Women's Open Presented by The James is a combination of an indoor and outdoor facility. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs the APP will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined

REGISTRATION & WEATHER INSURANCE POLICY

If you withdraw before CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE, you will be issued a full refund less the cancellation fee without the need to purchase Registration Insurance.
During registration you may choose to purchase the Registration & Weather Insurance in the event you have to cancel out of the event after CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE. See the policy for specific coverage details.
