Registration is scheduled to open on Tuesday, April 25th at 10am and probably will not be a Lottery System due to Pickleballbrackets.com fees.

Open Pro Estimated Payouts to the top 8 places, based on 16 entrants:

All Prize Money Checks will be mailed to winners following the event.

All Pro & Sr Pro Events will not play the come around. Gold Medal Match will be between the 2 undefeated teams from the Winner's Bracket. Qualifying brackets, if needed, will be single elimination. Those losing their qualifying match will be added into a single elimination points draw event to be held later in the day.

All Amateur Singles matches will be one game to 15, including the medal matches
Amateur Double Elimination Matches will be best 2 of 3 games to 11 in the main draw and one game to 15 for all Opportunity Bracket Matches, including the Bronze Medal Matches.
Round Robin may be used for small brackets if necessary.

****PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY IN MORE THAN ONE AMATEUR SINGLES, DOUBLES AND MIXED DOUBLES EVENT, EVEN IF THEY ARE ON DIFFERENT DAYS. IF IT'S DISCOVERED THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED FOR MORE THAN ONE YOU WILL HAVE TO CHOOSE WHICH ONE YOU WANT TO PLAY!!!****

While you are not allowed to play in more than one event per day, you may be able play in a Pro Event and an Amateur Event as long as they are not on the same day. That will depend on the size of the Pro Draws.

While we prefer to play all matches outdoors at Belknap Park, we do have an indoor backup facility for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness Club. We have lights and will do everything possible to play Wednesday & Thursday's matches at Belknap.

The GRRF has the same surface and we will continue to use the same ball if we go indoors.
Belknap Park has 19 courts and the GRRF has up to 20 if we need them, however there may be times that we cannot use all of the courts at GRRF.

INDOOR BACK UP FACILITY - For Friday, Saturday & Sunday's matches.

Leaving Belknap Park – Turn left on Coldbrook, at blinking red light, turn right on Plainfield Ave and go 6.4 miles to 4940 Plainfield, should take about 20 min.

You will register with your rating on the day you register!

We will not be able to make changes based on changes to ratings after registration date!

There will be a $10 service fee on any refunds to cover administration costs and PayPal fees.

Pickleballbrackets.com charges a Service Fee of $5 per event for Amateurs with a max of $10. The Pickleballbrackets.com Service Fee for Pro Events is $25 per event. This is a PBB fee and not refundable by the BEER CITY OPEN.

Your UTPR at the time of registration is what we will use for this event. We will NOT accept UTPR adjustment requests!

Due to the high demand in most Amateur Events we strongly recommend that you don't play up more than .5 in skill level. Players moved off the waitlists will be moved based on skill levels

What does it mean to be registered?

Player in a singles amateur event has registered and paid their tournament fees
Player in a doubles event both players have registered & both players have paid their tournament fees -
Player in a singles pro event has registered and paid their tournament fees
Player in a doubles pro event both players have registered both players have paid their tournament fees
You or your team could be moved to the waitlist if both players are not registered, if both players have not paid all tournament fees if you have not been approved to play a pro event
Contract to play is between players and it is their responsibility to comply with the tournament requirements to participate as stated above - player responsibility

Event fees
Registration fee is $90
Per Event Fee for Amateur is $40, Pro is $110 and Sr Pro is $90

Amateurs wishing to play into pro/senior pro brackets
There is a high likelyhood of Qualifying Draws for Open Pro Events
Players may only play in one event per day
All players must have a minimum 4.5 Official UTPR to play in any Pro Event (partners included)
All players must have a minimum 4.0 Official UTPR to play in any Sr Pro Event (partners included)
If event is full, then priority is given to 5.0 UTPR skill rated players over 4.5 UTPR skill rated players.
If capacity for pro bracket has been reached players/teams will be moved to an amateur event if there is capacity in the amateur events if not, you will be placed on the amateur event waitlist.
Amateur players please ensure you want to take this risk before signing up for a pro event.
Playing in Amateur Brackets: Players with a UTPR 5.5 or higher are NOT eligible to play in the amateur events
Players may only play in one event per day

As a waitlist develops, we will be managing bracket sizes to accommodate demand.
Therefore, bracket maximums may be adjusted from registration opening to the creation of brackets and schedule.

We are only able to run a certain number of matches each day. Just because a bracket looks to need teams, doesn't mean we have room to fit them in.

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A PARTNER AND BOTH BE PAID TO SECURE A SPOT IN ANY EVENT!!!

2:35PM - We are experiencing heavy rain. Please hold for more updates.

3:20PM - Rain has stopped and we are drying courts. All matches that have started will finish in the same format. All future matches will play matches 1 to 15, win by 2 in all main draw matches and the Bronze and Gold matches. 3:30pm matches we are moving your starting time back to 4:30pm. 4:00pm starting times will now begin at 5:30pm.

Men's & Women's Doubles - 1st - $9,000, 2nd - $5,000, 3rd - $3,000, 4th - $2,000, 5 & 6 - $1,200, 7 & 8 - $800

Men's & Women's Singles - 1st - $4,500, 2nd - 2,500, 3rd - $1,500, 4th - $1,000, 5 & 6 - $600, 7 & 8 - $400

Sr Pro Divisions - 50+ - MD, WD & MXD

$6,000+ in Sr Pro Prize Money

Based on minimum entrants of 8 teams per event

1st - $1000, 2nd - $600, 3rd - $400

Refund Policy

FINAL DATE TO WITHDRAW AND RECEIVE A REFUND IS 7/1/2023

A processing fee of $10.00 will be incurred if you withdraw prior to the withdrawal deadline.

We are not able to refund the Pickleballbrackets.com service fee.

NO REFUNDS will be issued after the deadline.

To officially withdraw, send an email to Brandon Schmeling-Registration Coordinator - let me know if you are withdrawing from an event or the entire tournament.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY - If weather is a factor, every effort will be made to play matches outdoors. However we do have an indoor backup facility at the Grand Rapids Racquet & Fitness Club for Friday, Saturday & Sunday's matches only. Same surface and same ball. There may be some days/times where the indoor facility has limited capacity. No refunds for cancellations due to weather.
