Description

The 2023 Rocky Mountain Championships is looking forward to again welcoming players from Colorado and across the county to the region's premier pickleball tournament. The tournament is fully sanctioned by USA Pickleball, featuring officiating of every match and the efficient operations of the PT Pro team. The RMC will include 3.0 to 5.0 skill levels. UTPR will be used for player rating and seeding placement.

TEAM CHALLENGE EVENT
New events this year!! RMC will include Team Challenge competitions with cash prizes to the winning teams in each division. Teams will include four players (2 men/ 2 women) and requires each player is registered in the tournament. The team brackets will include two age groups: 18 to 59 and 60 plus. Each age group will include two skill levels: 4.0 and below, and 4.5 to 5.0. Players on a team must be within the bracket's age/skill limits. These events are NON-SANCTIONED and will not affect the player's UTPR or WPR. A $4000 prize purse(*) will be paid to the winning teams of the RMC Team Challenge competition. Payout of the prize money in each bracket will include the 1st Place team ($600), 2nd Place team ($300), and 3rd Place team ($100). Full payout requires a minimum of ten (10) teams per group.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Double Elimination with come around (i.e. if a team loses a match, they may still win the gold by coming up through the consolation bracket).

* 5 team minimum for all events. Events will be combined if less than 5 teams are registered in an event. Bracket combination options include combining either age or skill levels (meaning you may compete against player in a younger/older age group or lower/higher skill level). Events being combined will not change the scheduled day of play. Medals will be awarded to winners of the original bracket levels.

* Main Draw: Matches consist of a best of 3 game format with each game to 11, win by 2 points.

* Consolation: Each match consists of one game to 15, win by two points.

* Round Robin for divisions of 5 teams (doubles only, singles 5 player divisions play Double Elimination), 4 teams, and 3 teams for 70+ only. Winners will be determined by matches won, head to head, and point differential.

The tournament has the right to shorten match formats if weather poses scheduling delays.

Refund Policy

NO REFUND POLICY - CANCELLATION DEADLINE June 10th, 2023

Withdrawals before June 10th, 2023, will receive a refund of all fees paid less a $25 cancellation fee. Withdrawals must be submitted via email to the tournament registration desk before the Cancellation Deadline of June 10th to receive a refund.

No refunds or credits will be given for any reason after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE unless a Registration & Weather Insurance Policy has been purchased from Rocky Mountain Pickleball. No other policies will provide player coverage for the Rocky Mountain Championships.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
The Rocky Mountain Championships is an outdoor event. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs, Rocky Mountain Pickleball, the tournament organizer, will make every effort to ensure that scheduled matches are played. However, RMP cannot guarantee playing of all matches. NO INDOOR VENUE IS AVAILABLE IN THE EVENT OF A WEATHER CONDITION THAT PREVENTS PLAY

Court conditions, weather, and player safety will determine decisions to suspend or cancel play. If brackets are in mid-match when weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs, the tournament will evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners will be determined. The tournament's decision will be final.

REGISTRATION & WEATHER INSURANCE POLICY
If you withdraw before the CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE, you will be issued a refund minus the $25 withdrawal fee without the need to purchase Registration Insurance.
