Delray Beach Pickleball is Life Challenge 2025

Description

The 3rd annual Delray Beach Pickleball is Life Challenge tournament March 6-9, 2025 in Delray Beach, FL at the prestigious Delray Beach Tennis Center. There will be Men's & Women's Singles, Men's & Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles events for all skill levels and age levels. Amateur brackets include skill levels: 2.5 to 5.0 with age levels 9-34, 35-49, 50-59 and Senior Amateur age levels 60-69, 70-74, 75+. There are Pro (all ages), Champions Pro (age 50+) and Masters Pro (age 60+) brackets for all events with $50/player going towards prize money! The Amateur and Pro brackets are on different days from the Senior Amateur, Champions Pro and Masters Pro brackets (see below). Registration includes a tournament shirt, hospitality tent, medals and prizes (paddles, bags, gift certificates and other gear) from our sponsors for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Tournament shirts are available in all sizes and include short sleeve, long sleeve, racerback, muscle, quarter zips. Long sleeve and quarter zips are extra. We accept Venmo, Zelle, Stripe and PayPal. This is not a sanctioned tournament however we will have referees for most Pro and Senior Pro matches and most amateur medal matches. Note: You can only play in one event per day, but because senior players can play down in age you are allowed to play in both senior and non-senior events since they are on different days.

At all Pickleball is Life tournaments:
- Results are submitted to DUPR.
- We Live stream multiple courts on the Pickleball is Life YouTube channel and Facebook page. www.youtube.com/@PickleballisLife.
- We have a well stocked hospitality tent with snacks, fruit, and water.
- Players can choose a short sleeve shirt, racerback, muscle shirt, long sleeve shirt or quarter zip.
- Winners will receive medals and gifts from our sponsors including paddles, pickleball bags, water bottles and other gear.
- There will be referees for Pro and Senior Pro matches and most amateur medal matches. This is not a sanctioned tournament.
- We accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal and Credit Cards.

Additional Information

Bracket Formats:
4 to 6 teams/players will play round robin format with playoffs for the top 4 teams/players.
7 and higher teams/players will play double elimination with the consolation draw able to win gold.
Tournament director has the discretion to make changes to the brackets regarding weather delays, combining small brackets and format. Age group may be combined, but refunds will be offered if skill levels need to be combined or separate medals will be offered for each skill level.

Weather

This is an outdoor event and there is no refund, unless you purchase the Registration & Weather Insurance (see above), for rain or an unforeseen circumstance (flood, power outage, etc.) and the tournament coordinators will do all they can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when it rains or an unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined. There are no rain dates.

Prize Money

The Pro and Senior Pro (50+) brackets will use the additional $50 per player to fund the prize money. Payouts will be 60% going to gold, 25% going to silver and 15% going to bronze. Total prize money depends on the number of players registering for each Pro bracket. As an example, here are the numbers from last year's tournament of Pro players/teams the payouts:

31 Men's Singles Players - Total $1,550, 1st $930, 2nd $388, 3rd $233 (per player)
15 Women's Singles Players - Total $750, 1st $450, 2nd $188, 3rd $113 (per player)
28 Men's Doubles Teams - Total $2,800, 1st $1,680, 2nd $700, 3rd $420 (per team)
18 Women's Doubles Teams - Total $1,800, 1st $1,080, 2nd $450, 3rd $270 (per team)
28 Mixed Doubles Teams - Total $2,800, 1st $1,680, 2nd $700, 3rd $420 (per team)

Refund Policy

Refund policy with no Registration & Weather Insurance - Refunds are available for registration and event fees minus the 3rd party service fees described below if canceled before the cancellation deadline of 2/6/25. Refund requests made after that date and before the start of the tournament will be granted minus a $25 processing fee to cover the purchase of shirts, medals, balls, etc. and minus the 3rd party service fees described below. There are no refunds after the tournament starts.

Refund policy with Registration & Weather Insurance - Full Refunds are available for registration and event fees if canceled before the cancellation deadline of 2/6/25. This saves you the 3rd party service fees. Refund requests made after that date and before the start of the tournament will be granted minus the 3rd party service fees described below. This saves you the $25 processing fee. After the tournament starts and if you have not played any events in the tournament then refunds of the registration and event fees will be granted minus a $25 processing fee and minus the 3rd party service fees described below. Without insurance you would receive no refund in this scenario. After the tournament starts and if you have already played in an event in the tournament then refunds of just the un-played event fees will be granted, not the registration fee since you competed already. Without insurance you would receive no refund in this scenario. Refunds are only granted if you are injured prior to starting an event or if the event is completely canceled without it being rescheduled, see below. Refunds are not granted if you start an event or if the event is rescheduled due to weather on a different date/time during the tournament dates. The Registration & Weather Insurance must be purchased when you register.

Brackets may be combined by age and/or skill at the discretion of the tournament director. Refunds will be issued as quickly as possible, but could occur after the conclusion of the tournament. 3rd PARTY SERVICE FEES: Include 1) payment fee (i.e. credit card fee or Venmo Services fee) and 2) the PickleballBrackets Software Fee, which is non-refundable as stated at checkout.

REGISTRATION & WEATHER INSURANCE: During registration you may choose to purchase the $20 Registration and Weather Insurance Policy in the event you have to cancel out of the tournament after the cancellation deadline above. The insurance will also give you a partial refund in case you have to cancel out of the tournament or your event is cancelled due to weather without a make-up day option. See above for details of the refunds if you purchase the Registration & Weather Insurance.
