Kenora, Rainy River, Thunder Bay, Algoma, Cochrane, Temiskaming, Nipissing, Sudbury and Manitoulin
This will be a skill/age event with gold medal winners earning free entry to the Championship Series Finals in Collingwood at the beautiful new Swing courts September 21-24. Pickleball Ontario is also working towards a travel credit for winners, details to be announced later.
For initial registration one player from each doubles team must make their primary residence within the region. If space remains in the tournament registration will open to anyone else (no geographical restrictions) on April 22.
This will be a Pickleball Canada sanctioned event, every registrant must have a current Pickleball Canada membership.
Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until both partners are fully paid and registered.
Skill levels contested will be 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 for 19+, 35+, 50+ and 65+ age groups. There will also be Open and Senior Open categories. The tournament will be using a round robin format with single elimination medal round. Players under 19 looking to compete please contact the tournament director.
Saturday August 12 - Men's and Women's Doubles
Sunday August 13- Mixed Doubles
Events may be combined solely at the tournament director's discretion. If events are combined only one set of medals will be awarded and only one, team qualification, to the finals will be granted.
Additional Information
Pickleball Ontario Championship Series
This new concept is designed to give players in each region the opportunity to compete and qualify for the Championship Series finals where they can be crowned provincial champions!
The 6 regions are the East, Central East, North, Central West, Niagara and South West.
The finals will be played in Collingwood September 21-24 at the stunning new Swing Courts, a pickleball designated facility with world class courts.
Each regional will feature opportunities for local tourism exposure as well as referee and skill clinics.
In the event a player wins multiple regionals in the same event they will have the option to choose which region they will represent. If a player needs to find a replacement for the finals they will be able to do so but the replacement must have competed in at least one of the six regionals.
