Trinity UMC Tournament 2025

Description

We are excited to invite you to a fun-filled charity pickleball tournament at Trinity United Methodist Church benefiting Faith Mission. This special event brings the community together to raise funds that will directly support the programs at Faith Mission and families in East Gainesville.

Faith Mission is committed to social empowerment through place-based learning for the well-being of us all. This commitment comes from our hope in a world where everyone has enough funds, friends, and meaning to thrive. The primary way that Faith Mission strives for social empowerment in our neighborhood is through Circles Gainesville. Circles Gainesville is a chapter in a national movement to empower families out of poverty permanently. Our chapter meets weekly to focus on the goals of people experiencing poverty to build social networks and create community.

Faith Mission also partners with local organizations to bring community programming to the neighborhood. These partners include Women on a Mission, First Love Yourself, Alachua County Health Promotion & Wellness Coalition, Poverty Solutions Group, and Gainesville Fire Rescue.

Whether you're a seasoned pickleball player or a beginner, everyone is welcome to join in the fun! Come enjoy a day of friendly competition while making a difference in our community.

Dates:
Mixed Doubles: Friday, January 17, 2025
Women's and Men's Doubles: Saturday, January 18, 2025
Moneyball (Co-Ed): Sunday, January 19, 2025

Format:
2.0-4.5 brackets will be round robin style with a playoff for the top 4 teams.
Moneyball will be a double elimination bracket.
All games are won by 2 points.

Rating:
Each team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player or higher and the age of the younger player. Age is calculated as of 12/31/2025.
Skill levels are: 3.0 and below, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+. We will be using self-rating; PLEASE BE COURTEOUS TO OTHERS AND ACCURATELY RATE YOURSELF. The tournament director reserves rights to audit and move players to other brackets at any time.

Cost:
First event included in registration! Each additional event is $10.
Registration is $50 through November 10.
Registration is $60 from Nov. 11 - Dec. 28.
Registration is $70 from Dec. 29 - Jan. 7.
Registration and payment is online through this website only; there will be no mail-in or in-person registration at the time of the tournament.
*Moneyball registration takes an additional fee of $45.

Prizes:
Medals to top three in each category. All participants receive dri-fit tee and free car wash coupon courtesy of Chevron at Hunter's Crossing, a proud sponsor of this event. Corporate sponsorships are available.

*In the case of weather delays or cancellation, we will consider an alternate date to play the tournament events.
*Tournament format is subject to change as necessary by the Tournament Director.
*Player skill levels are subject to adjustment by the Tournament Director based on past performance.
*Any listed events, fees, or other items are subject to change at the discretion of the Tournament Director at any time.

Prize Money

For Moneyball Only:

$600 for First Place Team
$300 for Second Place Team
$150 for Third Place Team

Refund Policy

All fees paid are final.

Players who register and pay but do not have a partner at the registration deadline will not be refunded.

Registration and payment is online through this website only, and there will be no mail-in or in-person registration at the time of the tournament.
