Co-ed Doubles Scramble
Round Robin games - 1 game to 11
Medal Round, 1 game to 15, win by 2, cap 17

Hot Shots, Skill: Intermediate, Age: 13 & Under
Cool Shots, Skill: Intermediate, Age: 14 - 18

Age is based on age as of December 31, 2024

Registration fee: $40 (includes event fee)
TOURNAMENT SHIRTS
All fully paid registrants receive a complimentary tournament shirt if registered before June 30, 2024. Please read the sizing chart carefully before selecting your size. No exchanges for a different size.
PICKLEBALL CANADA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED
The Youth Summer Slam is a Pickleball Canada non-sanctioned event. All registrants must be a Pickleball Canada member and a Pickleball BC member in good standing to play in this tournament. Please ensure your Pickleball Canada membership number and your skill level are included in your Pickleball Brackets profile before registering for this tournament. If you are not a Pickleball Canada member, you can become a member at https://pickleballcanada.org/participate/individual-membership/join-renew/
REGISTRATION
Registration is online only at https://pickleballbrackets.com/. Registration is not complete until registrants have submitted their completed waiver and fees have been paid in full. Online payment only via Stripe using a credit card. When the maximum per event is reached based on fully registered/paid teams, others will be added to the waitlist.
All players must complete their registration by Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. Players enter as individuals (this is a co-ed doubles scramble tournament).
SKILL LEVEL INFORMATION
If this is the first time your minor has entered a tournament, he/she does not yet have a CTPR (Canadian Tournament Pickleball Rating), or a PBR (Pickleball Brackets Rating). When entering tournaments for the first time, take serious consideration of the skill level that you self-rate.
Need help to self-rate? Please refer to the “Flyer” on the tournament listing landing page.
The tournament director reserves the right to review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self-rate below or above their actual rating.
We want this tournament to be a positive experience for the players so if you are unsure of the level that your minor is at then there are a few suggestions for determining their skill level, such as:
Bring forward any previous tournament results (matches played, opponents’ names, game scores, etc.) that can be used to determine skill level.
Ask an advanced player of any local pickleball club to either play with them or watch them play and perhaps they can offer an opinion (we would need that person’s name, PCO #, etc. to verify their credentials).
Start your minor at the lowest skill level (2.0)

The Tournament Committee has the right to make changes to the tournament, combine divisions, or change and alter the format depending on the number of registrations received.
THREE WAIVERS REQUIRED
1. Pickleball Canada waiver must be agreed to when completing registration for the tournament (this is an online waiver).
2. Parental/Guardian Consent waiver must be completed and emailed to spcyouthsummerslam@gmail.com before competing in the YSS tournament.
3. Social Media waiver must be completed and emailed to spcyouthsummerslam@gmail.com before competing in the YSS tournament.

Additional Information
PARENTAL/GUARDIAN EXPECTATION
The Surrey Pickleball Club is not responsible for providing adult supervision for any child while attending the Youth Summer Slam. Supervision at all times during the event must be provided by a designated adult (19+).

HELPFUL INFORMATION
Players are encouraged to bring:
- their portable chairs
- hat or umbrella for personal shade
- lots of water and sports drinks (dehydration can happen quickly when playing in the sun)
Refund Policy
REFUND POLICY
Registrants withdrawing before June 30, 2024, 8:00 p.m. will be refunded registration & event fees minus a $15.00 administration fee. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER June 30, 2024 FOR ANY REASON.
In the case of inclement weather or other unforeseen issues that prevent play, only those participants who did not play in any event will be refunded their registration & event fees, minus a $15.00 administration fee.
