NSW Pickleball Championships 2024

Description

The NSW Pickleball Championships (previously known as the NSW Pickleball Open) is the premier pickleball event in NSW. The 3 day tournament will held at the Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope Gardens from Friday 19 April to Sunday 21 April. Any member of Pickleball Australia - including Pickleball NSW - can enter. This is designated as a Tier 3 tournament, where players can gain Australian Ranking (AR) points.

Blacktown Leisure Centre is a huge modern venue which will boast 35 outdoor pickleball courts and 16 indoor courts. This amazing centre offers a free car park, a café and many other facilities. It is located next to Stanhope Gardens shopping centre and no more than a 45 minute drive from almost anywhere in Sydney.

The headline schedule of events will be:
Friday 19 April: Singles, Skinny Singles, Para singles & Hybrid doubles
Saturday 20 April: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Para doubles
Sunday 21 April: Mixed Doubles

Registration is $70 which includes entry into one event. Each additional event costs $15. Players can enter a maximum of 3 events - one per day - unless they enter in hybrid doubles events (in which a disabled player teams up with a non-disabled player), in which case they can enter 4 events. Any players wishing to play 4 events including hybrid events, click the "Contact Tourney" button on the front page of this website with details and we will arrange this for you.

Players with disabilities are encouraged to enter mainstream events (with minor rule modifications) in addition to para and/or hybrid events.

Registrations for all events close on 31 March.

Additional Information

The venue includes outdoor and indoor courts, which is helpful in the event of rain. Any event could be played on outdoor or indoors courts and will be advised on the day of their event, depending on various factors including the weather.
Games will be to 15 points by 2 in round robin events with up to 5 teams, and up to 11 points by in round robin events with 6 or more teams.
Open events will based the best of 3 games to 11 points by 2 with double elimination.
All players will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 games per event.
Green/yellow Franklin balls will be used for outdoor and indoor play.
Tournament T shirts will be provided at no extra cost to the first 550 competitors who check in at the tournament. Shirts can be collected from the Sports Magic marquee after checking in. There will be a limited number of t-shirts in each size.
Referees will control all medal matches plus other games when possible.

It is a condition of entry that all attendees understand that they may be photographed or filmed at the event and that these images may be stored and used by PAA, PANSW or our sponsors on websites, social media and other purposes without express permission or payment.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be provided to players who withdraw for any reason - no questions asked – before close of registration (31 March) - excluding transaction and service fees.

After registration closes (31 March) provision of a medical certificate will ensure a full refund minus the transaction and service charges.

General withdrawal after the close of registration (31 March) will result in a $30 registration payment being retained to cover costs incurred.

Once draws and event times are published, NO refund will be given, except when a medical certificate can be provided.
