Description
Sydney Inner West Pickleball Club proudly presents the very first Rainbow Pickleball tournament in Australia - encouraging participation from the LGBTQI+ community and allies.
To enter, participants must be a current member of an organisation affiliated with Pickleball Australia (or NSW), and register for their participation on the Pickleball Brackets (PB) software platform.
As a sanctioned tournament with Pickleball Australia Association, competitors will play under current USA Pickleball (USAPA) rules and compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in each division.
Additional Information
The competition will be held in doubles format only: Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles.
*If a player enters two events, they must both be in the same grade eg either Advanced or Intermediate. A player cannot enter one event in Advanced and one in Intermediate*
All matches will be first to 15 win by 2.
The competition format is for preliminary "Round Robins" in each division.
If there is only one pool in an event then at the end of the round robin matches the third and 4th seeds will play for the Bronze Medal. The Top 2 seeds will then play for Gold and Silver Medals.
Round Robin winners will be determined by the number of games won. If teams are tied, the winner will be then be determined by points won, then points lost and finally H2H
If there are two pools in an event then the top 2 seeds in each pool will advance to the Semi Finals whereby pool 1 winner will play pool 2 runner up. Pool 2 winner v pool 1 runner up. Winners progress to Gold and Silver playoff. Losing teams will play off for the Bronze medal.
Medal matches will be best of 3 games first to 11 (win by 2)
Referees will be scheduled for all medal matches.
Registration for The Rainbow Tournament is $55.00 which includes 1 event, with an additional fee of $10 for a second event.
Registrations will close on Sunday 31st March 2024 at 11.55pm or earlier if events limits are reached.

Please note the Tournament Director has the right at their discretion to amend events and elligibility criteria to manage player / team entry numbers and to provide appropriate competition opportunity and flexibility to cater for individual event demand.
Players should avoid wearing yellow clothing during play as the ball will be yellow

Health & Safety
A medical officer will be present during competition to provide first aid assistance as well as general wellbeing monitoring.
Refund Policy
Player requests for withdrawals will be accepted until Sunday 31st March 2024 at 11.45pm with a full refund less a $5 administration fee per event entered.
