BRACKET FORMATS
All amateur play will be round robin (pool play) with playoffs. All teams/players will play a minimum of 3 games (at least 3 games to 15 or at least 5 games to 11). If pools have 3 or fewer teams, we will combine with the adjacent skill level within the same age group; if needed, we may then combine by adjacent age groups.
At least the top 2 teams/players will advance to a playoff (across all event players/pools). If a bracket consists of more than 2 pools, there is a potential for 4 or more teams/players to advance to playoffs.
For any events that are combined, we will reward medals (1st/2nd/3rd for the original event level.
For example, if you signed up for 3.0 50+ mixed and it is combined with 3.0 60+ mixed, players in both groups will play against each other in the pool and in the medal rounds. The final medals awarded will be separate (e.g., 3.0 50+ mixed players and 3.0 60+ mixed players will get up to 6 medals total).

WARM UP
Players are welcome to warm up on the courts prior to the start of the tournament, or if there is an open court with no match. Players will get up to 5 minutes of warm up time for their first match of the day and up to 2 minutes of warm up time for any additional matches.
SKILL LEVELS
Mens/Womens Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories are divided into multiple categories of skill and age levels. Players may sign up for one skill level event per category. Please sign up for the appropriate skill level. Players are welcome to play in higher levels; however, higher level players who sign up for lower skill levels may be moved into the appropriate skill category.
We recommend that players be at or below the next skill level for their DUPR rating (e.g., for a 4.0 event, players may be up to a 4.499 rating). We may ask players to adjust their event level should they have a DUPR rating outside of the current event - or if recent tournament results supports that they should be at a higher level. Questions/concerns about yourself or another player? Please reach out to the tournament director: aj.davis.pickleball@gmail.com.
If you need assistance in determining your skill level please copy and paste the link below to learn more.

AGE GROUPS
Both players must adhere to the listed age groups. Your pickleball age is based on your age on 12/31 of this year. You may not play in the same event in two age groups, but you can play in a division younger than your age if you prefer.
CROSS-GENERATION DOUBLES
This tournament celebrates multiple generations playing pickleball together! At least one player must be 50+ years old to participate in the Cross-Generation doubles events. You can compete in both mixed and gendered cross-generation doubles events in the same day.
DUPR
This tournament will submit tournament scores to DUPR only for senior-only events. This tournament will not submit tournament scores to DUPR for the Cross-Generation doubles events.
You should expect the games to take 2-4 weeks to appear in DUPR. Please reach out to us if you see any discrepancies in the reporting after the full results are posted.
GENDER INCLUSION POLICY
We strongly believe that gender identity, expression and sex variation should never hinder the participation of a competitor. All players should have the opportunity to participate fairly, safely and equitably without prejudice. Our tournaments strive to prioritize diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the sport and is committed to providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for transgender and non-binary people.
Athletes of all gender identities have the choice to participate in the event categories that they feel most closely aligns with their gender identity. We understand this is a complex topic and welcome any suggestions/feedback for improving our gender inclusion policy for future events.
ASL Inclusion Policy
To support players who use American Sign Language (ASL), we encourage players to learn ASL numbers 1-15 before the tournament. The serving team member should sign the score prior to serving; alternatively, you may designate one team member to sign before both servers (from the serving box). For ASL signs, visit: What's the Sign: Pickleballs
