Northern Rivers Regional Doubles 2024

Welcome to the Northern Rivers Regional Pickleball Tournament to be held at the Ballina Indoor Sports Centre from Friday August 2nd to Sunday August 4th 2024.

** NOTE: this year all events will be played inside the main BISC sports hall (the courts inside the school will NOT be in use) **

Registration Opens: June 24th at 8:00 am (AEST)
Registration Closes: July 26th at midnight (AEST)

This is a Pickleball Australia sanctioned tournament. It will use the current IFP rules. They can be found at: IFP Official Rules of Pickleball

Registration fee of $50 and $15 for each subsequent event.

You can play up to 3 events - being either:
2 x Opens and 1 x age event OR
1 x Open and 2 x age events (1 age mixed event and 1 age gender event) (as the schedule allows)
If entering only 2 age events then 1 must be a gender age event and 1 a mixed age event.

Schedule
Friday 2nd August – Seniors day : Gender doubles (60+ events)
Saturday 3rd August – All Mixed Doubles
Sunday 4th August – Gender Doubles (under 60 and Open)

- Players are guaranteed three games per event.
- Events will start with round robins and then finals
- Medals will be awarded to gold, silver and bronze winning competitors for each bracket.
- The tournament director reserves the right to cancel, merge or modify the events and/or schedule as needed pending influences beyond our control.

Note: these motels are a 5 minute drive to the venue (or 15 minute walk). These motels are adjacent to each other and directly over the road from Ballina RSL.

Social Event
A dinner will be held on the evening of Friday 2 August in the Craft Bar at the Ballina RSL. Details will be provided to tournament entrants closer to the time.

Additional Information

Before registering for this tournament:
1. You must have a current PAA membership through your state pickleball association e.g. PANSW.
2. You must have a profile on Pickleball Brackets.com.
Self rating guidelines
• This is a small tournament with registration limited to 180 competitors, so we recommend that you register early. If the event you want to compete in is already full, you will be placed on the WaitList. This does not mean that you will not be able to compete. It means that we will try to accommodate your registration as places become available. You will be automatically notified if/when you are removed from the WaitList.
• If not registering at the same time as your partner you have 4 days for them to register before you are placed on the WaitList.
• If you do not have a partner, you can look under 'Players Needing Partners' to find a partner.
• At a minimum, referees will be scheduled on the gold medal match.
• The balls being used at the tournament are yellow indoor balls – please avoid wearing yellow clothing

Refund Policy

Player requests for withdrawals will be accepted until Monday, 29th July, 2024 at 6pm, with a full refund less a $10 administration fee. After this time there will be no refunds provided. Only exceptions would be hospitalisation, suffering from COVID or other such situation.
