Texas School for the Deaf - 1102 S Congress Ave Austin, Texas 78704 United States
All start times are subject to change and events might be merged or split based on event registration.
Description
Welcome to one of ADPB's first tournaments in 2024, featuring six courts set against the stunning backdrop of Austin's skyscrapers! We will be organizing co-ed scramble matches across four skill levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, catering to ages 14 to 49 and 50 and above.
Wondering what scrambles are? This format allows players to team up with others, depending on the number of participants. The goal is to win up to 11 points, leading by 2, during a round-robin phase, followed by a single-elimination bracket competing for bronze, silver, and gold medals.
Everyone is welcome, as long as you're willing to learn how to sign scores. We'll have staff on-site to teach score signing. Join us for an exciting mix of competition and camaraderie!
Additional Information
All players will self-rate - this means you should update your player profile on pickleballbrackets.com not to be any lower than your DUPR if you have one. The match coordinator reserves the right to move you/your team up a level.
The match coordinator reserves the option to combine brackets if brackets do not fill. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards will be based on the combined bracket. The match coordinator also reserves the right to cancel or modify the events and/or schedule as needed, pending influences beyond our control (e.g. weather, injuries, absences).
Weather
We will monitor the weather and communicate with players about all schedule adjustments or cancellations. Please check your email and text frequently in the days leading up to the tournament.
On the day of the tournament, we will communicate via TEXT if we are going with Plan A or B:
Plan A: Rain delay by a couple of hours.
Plan B: Reschedule the tournament to Sat, Feb 17, from 8a to 4p.
If we end up going with Plan B, and you are unable to make it to the new date, edit your registration at pickleballbrackets.com by withdrawing your registration before Sat Feb 10th. We will refund your payment minus a $15 processing fee.
