Picklepalooza 2024

Description

August 10, 2024 is National Pickleball Day in Canada and each year we celebrate with a one-day mixed doubles tournament. Since it IS National Pickleball Day and we ARE the Official Pickleball Capital of Canada join us for the 2024 Mixed Doubles Picklepalooza tournament! This is a fun tournament open to all (18 yrs and up). Please note that while this is a fun tournament, IFP rules still apply.

Proceeds from this event will go towards the development and expansion of the pickleball courts here at the lake.

Additional Information

Current Membership with Pickleball Canada is REQUIRED for this tournament.

All Registrations will be processed through Pickleball Brackets (www.pickleballbrackets.com) and all registrants will need to create an account on the Pickleball Brackets website if you do not have one. It is free and easy to complete prior to tournament registration dates.

IMPORTANT: A registration is considered complete when both team members have completed their registration and paid the fees. If one of the partners has not completed their registration within 5 days of the team's registration, then the team is put on the WAITLIST. Teams on the waitlist that complete their registration will be added to the event, provided there is space in the event at that time.


YOUR RATING: As you know it may take some time before your DUPR rating can be used for tournaments under Pickleball.com. For this tournament and until that integration is complete, your Pickleball Brackets Rating (PBR) will be used. YOU MUST PLAY IN YOUR CURRENT RATING OR HIGHER

**If you do not have a PBR and are using a self rating be advised that the Tournament Director reserves the right to reassign you to an alternate skill level if your selection is determined to be unsuitable.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT: Events will be played in accordance with the IFP rules and regulations in effect at the time of the tournament. IFP approved equipment only. Please refer to the IFP web site for details: http://ipickleball.org/rulesIFP_Paddle_Material_Specifications

OFFICIATING MATCHES: We will endeavour to have all matches officiated at this unsanctioned event

SKILL LEVELS PLAYING: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, will be played

The playing format will be Round Robin with games to 15 points (win by 1).
The top 4 teams in each event will advance to the playoffs.

Registration and event cost is $60

Refund Policy

Registration Fees, minus a $15 Administration Fee, will be refunded for withdrawals before July 27, 2024. Any withdrawals after registration closes will not be refunded.

THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS ON OR AFTER July 27, 2024

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations due to acts of nature i.e. rain, fire, smoke.
Refunds will not be issued if cancelled due to Public Health Order/reasons.
