Players International Management (PIM), organizers of the World Pickleball Classic & World Pickleball Open is excited to host the Martin County Senior Games Oct. 24 - 26, 2024 at Halpatiokee Park (8303 SW Lost River Rd, Stuart, FL 34997).

The top 4 in each age divisional event will qualify for the 2024 Florida Senior Games. (Note: qualifying is only applicable to Florida residents). Athletes qualifying for one event at a Local Senior Games Series Qualifier are eligible to compete in all three events at the Florida Senior Games... details below.

*Match Play Info: Pending draw sizes, divisions might carry over to another day to finish their event, event ends on Saturday
*Participant amounts per division: Pending the amount of registrations, events may be merged/combined if needed. Event will do its best to accommodate as many players as possible
EVENT INFO
o Age/Skill tournament, event has the right to combine any age & skill level groups pending draw sizes. Brackets will be combined based upon SKILL.
o Balls for event: Penn 40 Outdoor Ball
o Event has the right to finish an event on the following day (event held Thursday – Saturday only).
o Waiver: All players must sign the event waivers or they will not be allowed to compete.
o Schedule: Daily play will begin at 8am, practice courts available (1st come, 1st serve) beginning at 7:15am
o Awards: Distributed to top three teams per division
o Referees: Individual matches will not have a referee assigned to them.
ENTRY FORMAT
o Singles are normal. We are not hosting ‘skinny’ singles
o Format: Round robin, games to 15, win by one
o Standings: Wins – Total Points – Head to Head
o The event reserves the right to modify based on number of entries, weather conditions, etc. (ie Rally Scoring, etc.).
o Teams and players will not be seeded.
o Brackets will be determined by a random draw.
o Any event (age class) which does not have at least four entries (teams or individuals) may be combined with another division or cancelled at the discretion of the Event Director.
o Round Robin formats (Standings based on Wins – Points Won – Head to Head):
o 4– 7 teams: Single Round Robin, no Playoff
o 8 teams: 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
o 9 teams: 1 pool of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
o 10 teams: 2 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.
o 11 teams: 1 pool of 5. 1 pool of 6. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 12 teams: 3 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 13 teams: 2 pools of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 14 teams: 2 pools of 5. 1 pool of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 15 teams: 3 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 16 teams: 4 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 17 teams: 3 pools of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 18 teams: 2 pools of 5. 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 19 teams: 3 pools of 5. 1 pool of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
o 20 teams: 4 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top team of each pool.
EVENT RULES
o A coin flip will determine first choice of service or side. If the winner chooses to serve or receive, the loser picks starting side. If the winner chooses starting side, the loser chooses to serve or receive. Sides and initial service will be switched upon completion of each game. Sides will be switched after the first team reaches a score of 8 points. Serve remains with the player holding serve.
o All questionable calls must be resolved in favor of the opponent.
o Served balls clearing the non-volley zone and landing on any service court line except the non volley zone line are good.
o Balls in play landing on any side or back court line are good.
o All serves must be made underhand at or below the waist (i.e. contact with the ball must d as the paddle head shall be below the hand when striking the ball.
o Players will be responsible for calling their own lines
o When net systems have a horizontal bar that may include a center base, and the ball hits the horizontal bar or the center base before going over the net, it is a fault. If the ball goes over the net and then hits the horizontal bar, the ball is still in play. If the ball goes over the net and then hits the center base or the ball gets caught between the net and the horizontal bar before touching the court, it is a let and must be replayed.
ENTRY INFO
o The age division of competition for Doubles and Mixed Doubles will be determined by the younger age of the two partners.
o Athletes may compete with only one partner per event.
o Competitors must bring their own paddles.
o Pickleballs will be provided.
o Participants will receive one T-shirt for competing in a Senior Games event
o Before Sept. 28: $40 Registration Fee, $25 per event registration, $5 software fee per event
o After Sept. 28: $50 Registration Fee, $25 per event registration, $5 software fee per event
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:
o This is an outdoor event – there is no indoor back-up. If weather is a factor, we will do everything we can to play matches (match formats may be adjusted/shortened to accommodate). There are no refunds or make up days if the event is impacted by weather.
o Competitions will be conducted unless event staff determines the weather conditions to be potentially dangerous, life threatening or if the facility would incur significant damage. There will be no cash refunds for cancelled events due to weather.
