Ring in the New Year at the 2022 Connecticut Pickleball Open

Mixed Doubles - Friday, December 31, 2021 - 8:00 AM to Approximately 6:30 PM
Singles and Skinny Singles - Saturday, January 1, 2022 all day starting at 10:00 AM
Men's Doubles and Women's Doubles - Sunday, January 2, 2022 all day starting at 8:00 AM

December 20, 2021 - Important Information for players regarding the event schedule and Covid precautions that will be in place to assure a successful tournament and healthy environment for everyone.

1. Schedule – The schedule of events will be completed and sent to players on December 23rd. The general schedule will consist of two or three sessions, morning, mid-day and afternoon. Players will be asked to arrive no earlier than one half hour prior to their event. They will be required to leave promptly after their event in order to minimize the number of people in the building at any one time.
2. Spectators – With the goal of limiting the number of persons in the building, no spectators will be allowed.
3. Masks – Masks are not required. However, for personal protection and the protection of others, masks are encouraged when not playing. Masks may be worn during play if desired.
4. The location of courts for each bracket will be posted at the check in desk. After check in, please proceed directly to those courts for warm up. Play will begin as soon as all players have arrived.
5. Players should remain in the area of their designated courts throughout the competition. Please do not spend any time in the lounge area or visit with any other playing group.
6. There will be no computer monitor set up for checking scores and standings. Players may use their phones for that purpose. Posters with QR codes will be positioned in all playing areas to direct players to the tournament website.

Any further updates to the Covid policy will be posted here and emailed to players.

This is a Skill Level/Age Group Tournament. Registration is by skill level.

For doubles and mixed doubles, you must sign up at the skill level of the higher rated partner. Players with a PickleballBrackets.com rating must use that rating. Players with both a PickleballBrackets.com Rating and a USA Pickleball UTPR rating must use the higher rating. Players with a USA Pickleball UTPR rating but no PickleballBrackets.com rating must use that rating. Players with neither rating may self rate. Skill levels are determined at the time of the tournament.

Ratings will be verified.

SKILL LEVEL GROUPS WILL BE SPLIT BY AGE TO CREATE PLAYING EVENTS.

Age groups will be determined by registration numbers.

For a guaranteed spot in mixed doubles or doubles, the second partner must sign up within 5 days of the first partner's registration. Incomplete teams will be moved to the waiting list after that. Once the second partner registers, they will be moved back into the event IF THERE ARE SPOTS LEFT IN THE TOURNAMENT AND THE EVENT.

The tournament is limited to 300 players and will automatically close when that number is reached.

The tournament format is round robin for events with a small number of teams. For events with more than 9 teams, teams will be divided into two or more seeded pools and the top two teams in each pool will advance to a playoff round to determine medal winners.

Skinny singles is played on half the court. Players may register for both regular singles and skinny singles.

The registration fee is $60 for one event and $10 for each additional event.

Refund Policy

Refund policy:
No refunds for withdrawals from an event.
Refunds minus a $10 processing fee for withdrawals from the tournament up through the final day of registration.
No refunds for withdrawals from the tournament after registration closes.

Refunds will be processed after the tournament is over.
