*CANCELLED* USA Pickleball Golden Ticket - The Path to Nationals - Virginia Beach

This is a USA Pickleball Golden Ticket event! Registration will close May 22, 2024

The USA Pickleball Golden Ticket - The Path to Nationals - Virginia Beach will be held at the Pickleball Virginia Beach courts on June 5-9, 2024. Gold medalists will earn Golden Tickets—
the ability to pre-register—for the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships.

Format:

All events, including singles, will offer a pool-play format. If there are not 8 teams or more for pool play, then a round-robin bracket will be played.

The top 4 teams from each round robin will move forward to the next round.
If pool play is in use, the top 2 teams from each pool move forward to the next round.

All pool-play matches, as well as all pre-medal matches, will be one game to 15, win by two points. The medal matches will be best two-out-of-three games to 11 points, win by two.

The gold-medal winners of each event will earn a Golden Ticket to the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships.

This is an MMP sanctioned event. Players' UTPR will be used

For a CONFIRMED spot in an event, both partners must be registered and paid. Players without partners or whose partners have not registered and paid within 4 days of their signup, will be moved to the waiting list. Once their partner signs up, they will be moved back into the event - IF THERE ARE SPOTS REMAINING IN THE BRACKET AND THE TOURNAMENT.

We have 5 year age breaks planned for 50 and above.
We have 10 year age breaks planned below 50
Skill levels are 3.0 to 5.0 (No 5.5, or higher, rated players may participate)

Additional Information

This is a skill/age tournament for brackets below age 65 and age/skill for brackets 65 and above.

Partner search is the responsibility of the player. If the team "both players" have not completed registration and paid within 4 days you will be moved to the waitlist.

Tournament director reserves the right to combine a bracket if needed.

Refund Policy

CANCELLATIONS

Withdrawals from the tournament before May 22, 2024, will receive a refund
minus a $25 cancellation fee.

No refunds or credits for any reason after May22, 2024.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

This event is an outdoor event. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs,
we will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or
unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case
basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined
